Project Anouncement

„Our Healthy Future” is a joint initiative of five European secondary schools funded by the EU-Comenius programme. It started in autumn 2009 and ends in September 2011.

The participating schools are

  • Gymnasium Beevliet, Sint Michielsgestel, the Netherlands
  • III Spoleczne Liceum Ogólnoksztalcace, Krakow, Poland
  • Sandagymnasiet, Huskvarna, Sweden
  • Trinity Academy, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Waldschule Schwanewede, Schwanewede, Germany

- Because the school from Krakow wasn't funded by the local autorities, they had to leave the project - a decision about which we are very sorry!!

The co-operative partners are

  • University of Applied Sciences, Bremen
  • ELOS

In “Our Healthy Future”, groups or single students at the participating schools worked on self-devised (“research”) projects basically trying to answer three “target” questions which are meant to lead the way from a possibly sceptical position (Am I responsible?) at the beginning, to the insight that everyone can do something (I am responsible):

  • How “healthy” is my future?
  • What reasons can I identify?
  • What can I do to solve identified problems?

The projects concentrated on one or more “target” areas or levels, being

  • the individual level (myself)
  • the regional level (my immediate environment)
  • the national level (my country)
  • the European level
  • the global level (my planet),
